This 11 days Kenya-Uganda safari will take you to meet Uganda’s adorable gorillas as well as great wildebeests, Big 5 game, vast birds, primates and many more wildlife in both Uganda & Kenya.

Get amongst the massive herds of wildebeests and their predators extending your safari to Gorillas of Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Mgahinga National Park.

Day 1: Arrival in Nairobi, Kenya

On arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, our Guest Representative welcomes you to Kenya “the heart of Africa.” Each guest receives a welcome bag and our representative assists you to transfer your luggage to the waiting bus and proceed to The Emakoko Lodge for a night – a thirty minutes’ drive from Nairobi itself.

Day 2: Transfer by road to Maasai Mara

A rise today with breakfast served at 06h00, check out and start for Maasai Mara. This is most definitely worth the effort to avoid the rush hours of traffic in Nairobi. This scenic drive from Nairobi to Maasai Mara via the great rift valley will take approximately 5hours. On arrival at the lodge, check in and return back to the restaurant for hot lunch. Later, join your naturalist driver guides and embark on your safari vans for a sunset game drive.

Remark: please pre order your dinner before you start your evening game drive. For families with children, feel free to request the chef to pack a light snack that will be kept on board the vehicle.

Day 3: Full day game drives in Masai Mara.

A special feature of Maasai Mara is the availability of relaxed and informative game drives- the star attraction is watching the wildebeest migration. You will also have an opportunity to spot herds of Zebras, Impalas, Elands, Reedbucks, Black Rhinos, African Elephants, Maasai Giraffes and several species of Gazelles that call all the short- grass plains and acacia woodland of Mara home. This vast concentration of game accounts for high predator numbers including Cheetahs, Leopards, Spotted Hyenas, Black-backed jackals, Bat eared foxes, Caracals and some of the highest Lion densities of the world. Proceed with your drive back to the lodge as you watch the sunset. A delicious lodge prepared three-course dinner is served around 19h30.

Day 4: On ward to Lake Naivasha

Breakfast, check out and embark on your onward drive to Lake Naivasha National Park. This section of your journey covers approximately 4hours and you will be driving through the rift valley- one of the continent’s grand epics. Arrive in time for your hot lunch and check-in.

After lunch, venture out on a water safari experience on Lake Naivasha. Our expert crew will make a presentation about the fauna and flora surrounding the lake.

Day 5: Transfer by road to Amboseli National Park

After breakfast, you will be transferred by road to Amboseli National Park, a driving time of six to six and a half hours. With packed lunch on board, seat back and enjoy the drive through rural Kenya combined with a game enroute to your host property.

Amboseli National Park belongs in the elite of Africa’s national parks and it is easy to see why. Its signature attraction is the sight of hundreds of big- tusked African Elephants, rich wildlife and you will also have the best views of Kilimanjaro in Africa.

Proceed with your game drive to Kibo Safari Camp. Like Lake Naivasha Sopa Lodge, Kibo Safari Camp has traditionally thatched canvas tents with en suite bathroom, adding your camp to the perfect blend of ancient culture, nature and modern convenience.

Day 6: Full day Game drives

Early in the morning set off in open 4×4 vehicles for a game drive in the Amboseli National Park. Crowned by Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak, the Amboseli National Parks is one of Kenya’s most popular parks. The name “Amboseli” comes from a Maasai word meaning “salty dust”, and it is one of the best places in Africa to view large herds of elephants up close. Nature lovers can explore five different habitats here ranging from the dried-up bed of Lake Amboseli, wetlands with Sulphur springs, the savannah and woodlands.

Kibo Safari Camp offers a spacious dining area, two plush seating areas with large sofas and a sun deck. An open-air boma with a campfire is ideal for socializing in the evenings while the splash pool is perfect for cooling off in the hot seasons. The waterhole is lit at night to afford wildlife viewing from the comfort of the camp. Research the day’s sightings in the reference library to learn more about the fauna and flora of the surrounds.

Day 7: Transfer to Entebbe, Uganda

Check out and fly out of Amboseli back to Nairobi for your onward flight to Entebbe, Uganda. Upon arrival at the Entebbe Airport you will be picked up and travel to the Lake Victoria Serena Resort. Upon arrival you will check-in and settle in for the night. During your dinner, our lead guide and representative will meet you and brief you about your journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. It is during this presentation that you will learn and ask more questions about your gorilla tracking experience. After the briefing you will turn in for the night.

Day 8: Fly to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest

After breakfast you will check out and travel, by road to the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. This southern sector of rural Uganda boosts an impressive list of guests. To name just one: Dian Fossey, who even called it her second home. You will make a stop to have lunch in Mbarara and a cup of hot coffee in Kabale or Kisoro Town. Upon arrival in Bwindi, you will check-in at the Clouds Mountain Gorilla Lodge, have dinner and settle in for the night.

Day 9: Full day Gorilla Tracking

After an early morning breakfast your journey into the gorilla sanctuary. There are approximately 900 of these beautiful creatures left in the world. You will arrive before 8am for registration and a briefing about the trek guidelines. The guides will then take you through the bush, pushing your way through the undergrowth, and parting thick creepers to track the gorillas. The trek can take from half an hour to 7 hours – a reasonable degree of fitness is required as well as a sturdy pair of walking shoes. These amazing primates are shy but once you are close to the group the guides will ask you to leave behind your bags as no food items should be carried close to the apes. It is an experience you can share through your camera lenses as you watch and photograph these majestic creatures. After this experience you will proceed to Lake Bunyonyi for a refreshing and romantic boat ride as you wait for dinner and overnight.

Day 10: Bush flight from Bwindi to Entebbe

You will rise early to hot beverages served before you check out and transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for your bush flight to Entebbe Airport. Upon arrival you will travel to the hotel/resort for breakfast and lunch. Unless you have a reason to rush to your room, a visit to the Uganda Wildlife Center is another experience you should take part in. While the center’s function is primarily used as a zoo, it is actually a world-class animal refugee that has benefited from international assistance. Most of the animals were once injured or were rescued from poachers and traffickers. Star attractions include white rhino, lion, leopard and the rare shoebill stork. This tour will be followed up by a sunset cruise on Lake Victoria and a farewell dinner back at the resort. After dinner you will turn in for the night.

If you choose to transfer to Kampala by road, you have you delicious breakfast and embark on a 8 hour drive to Kampala the Igongo recreation center where you have your wonderful cultural breakfast and proceed to Kampala via the Uganda equator where you take memorable photos with parts of your body in the Norther while the other is in the Southern hemisphere. Retire and proceed to Kampala arriving at around 18:00pm and check in your lodge for dinner, relaxation and overnight.

Day 11: Breakfast and transfer to Entebbe airport for departure

After a hearty breakfast you will check-out and say goodbye to Africa. You will travel back to the Entebbe International airport for your flight home. This is where your safari will end.

Best time to visit Kenya

Kenya is open all-year-long, the best wildlife viewing months in Kenya are during the Dry season from late June to October.

The wildebeest migration usually reaches the Masai Mara in August and remains until October when they move back to the Serengeti in Tanzania.

 June to October –Dry Season. Wildlife is easier to spot.

July to October are the best months to see the wildebeest migration It gets very busy and crowded in the most popular parks.

November to May –Wet Season

The scenery is beautiful and green Rates drop because it’s the low season.
