4-Day Kenya Safari to Masai Mara & Lake Nakuru – Budget Safari


This Kenya tour takes you to Maasai Mara, referred to as Kenya’s most celebrated game park. In this Kenya safari, you will have opportunities to sightsee “the big five” and many other species of game lives. This is where the great wildebeest migration “the world’s greatest wildlife spectacle” occurs mainly in July and August of each year. Lake Nakuru (Pink Lake) often referred so due to its Great masses of Flamingos not forgetting the famous white Rhino and black rhino found in this park.

Day 1: Drive from Nairobi to Masai Mara

Pick up from the hotel at around 8:00 am drive southwards along the floor of the Great Rift Valley with a stopover at the viewpoint arriving in time for lunch. Later proceed for evening game drive which is well known for its rich, tree-studded grassland and rolling hills. The famous Mara is also renowned for its great herds of plain game, black-maned lions, leopard, and cheetah but also contains numerous elephants and virtually every type of wildlife to be found in Kenya. Dinner and overnight at Mara.

Day 2: Masai Mara Wildlife exploration

The second day of your wonderful Kenya safari, after breakfast with a picnic lunch, you spend the full day game viewing with a visit to the Mara river where there is a concentration of a lot of animals. You will have your picnic lunch as you watch the crocodiles, Hippos and other animals living in water. This day you have the option of going to visit the Masai villages. All meals and overnight at Mara Lenchada.

Day 3: Transfer from Masai Mara-Nakuru

You will embark on an early morning game drive then after late breakfast depart to Nakuru National park with picnic lunch on the way arriving in the evening, if time allows you pass via Naivasha for a boat ride at Lake Naivasha crescent island. Dinner and overnight at Golden palace for budget accommodation.

Day 4: Transfer from Nakuru to Nairobi

After early breakfast spend the morning in Nakuru park where you see a lot of flamingos among other birds [about 350 species recorded]. This is also home to the black and the white rhinoceros. The park has also been established for the protection of endangered species such as the Rhino and also home to Columbus monkeys. Leopards, giraffes, and a variety of plain antelope. After depart to Nairobi with picnic lunch on the way drop off airport or your hotel.

Best time to visit Kenya

Kenya is open all-year-long, the best wildlife viewing months in Kenya are during the Dry season from late June to October.

The wildebeest migration usually reaches the Masai Mara in August and remains until October when they move back to the Serengeti in Tanzania.

 June to October –Dry Season. Wildlife is easier to spot.

July to October are the best months to see the wildebeest migration It gets very busy and crowded in the most popular parks.

November to May –Wet Season

The scenery is beautiful and green Rates drop because it’s the low season.
